Hello all, The sofa you see here is a testament to my love for artistic and creative things. I came across this sofa and thought, I have the perfect throw pillow design for this sofa, so I wanted to share it. I hope that you like the pairing as much as I do!
My name is Erma George I'm the founder, CEO and designer of Amra Home Accents. This baby of mine was conceived as a result of my love for all things beautiful. I studied Interior design at a local private college to enhance my skills and perhaps work for a company; perhaps some day pursue a career in architecture, but Some life situations happened which caused me to look in other directions while still in pursuit of the interior design industry. Since I have this love for interior decorating, I decided that I wanted to pursue product development for the retail industry, so I began designing throw pillows; It's been a long journey for me but a journey of love as well and a deep passion for the arts, has kept me going. designing is art you know! I reside in Cleveland, Ohio which is a location rich in culture. Many famous people have come from this location. But I'm not seeking fame, Fame has it's costs! I just want to make the company a success so that I can share this passion that I have and to give back to the society of individuals who make up this universe that we inhabit.; success has it's cost. How I got started
Some things are just innate in us; well
this is how I got started. creativity is just a part of who I am as a person. I see creativity in everything, because it is in everything. Some elements of creativity are, fluency, flexibility, originality, awareness and drive. I find all of these in myself. My interest in home décor; I like making things beautiful, where would the world be without beauty. Our surroundings dictate our well-being, without some form of beauty around us our production would be less than productive. When I was a young single mother I had very little of anything but I had my creative abilities and I utilized them to make something out of nothing, so the thrift stores were my shopping center. I would curate items no one wanted. the items were low priced because of how they looked. I utilized that to my advantage because I could see the beauty in them; a little of nothing was wrong with it. so I would get it for a reduced price. The categories were wide ranged Fabrics; from which I would make throw pillows and table runners to dress up that thrift find that I'd just scored. Furniture, to small table top and wall décor. The finished results was that my children had a lovely environment to enjoy. My passion for home décor continues to blossom! which brings me to today. I create throw pillows from patterns that I designed in a range of colors and designs. Today I still pick up small furniture pieces and table top décor to repurpose them, this is my way of giving back to the environment by keeping them out of the landfills for as long as possible, You will find some of those items on my website.

Amra Home Accents is an African American woman owned home décor business. My company designs artistic throw pillows for the industry; an industry where women are only two percent stakeholders when it comes to manufacturing the products. I create throw pillows for the industry, In hopes that I can inspire more women to enter the industry as designers and manufacturers of home décor products; As we are the major purchasers of the products and should have more of a stake when it comes to the decision making process; We know what we like and we know what we want.
